I challenge anyone on this committee to say they would [leave their children trapped in a failing school].

The methodology around that, the only requirement is that we have to be agnostic as to a school's Title I status and otherwise be fair and equitable.

When parents have a choice, I truly believe every kid has a chance, and that's what this hearing is about.

I look forward to working together in the weeks and months ahead. I suspect we will continue to have our differences, but there is no doubt we share the same goal of helping to ensure every child is prepared to succeed in life.
