You know, if Republicans really wanted to give everybody a few thousand dollars, they would have done it this week instead of going home for two months in the middle of multiple national crises.

So forgive us if we don’t believe him when he says he’s going to give everybody $5,000, but only after the election and only if they win.

And I couldn’t help but thinking, as I rounded the edge of the mall, that the only thing he’s actually managed to drain is that reflecting pool in front of the Lincoln Memorial.

And then we wake up to see billions in crypto money going right into his pockets and corporate lobbyists getting their way everywhere from the AI industry to my old haunts at the U.S. Department of Transportation.

A lot of people believed him when he said he was going to drain the swamp.

I came to South Carolina to propose something about the country’s future.

He brought hope to us.

His speech was what you talk about at the kitchen table. How America is going to survive all of this?

There is no such thing as again in real life. The only way out is through.

Wherever you sit, in this big tent of ours, and it is a big tent, but whatever corner of that tent you think of as home, there is a set of things, and I mean big, big things, where we agree with each other, we agree with most Michiganders…

We’re going to win because we know what it means to focus on what’s at stake, to lock arms as allies after a spirited primary, to pull together in common cause.

The vast majority of people understand that it makes no sense to say that we can’t have good roads and and great hospitals in rural places and we can’t have fully funded public schools at the exact same moment when the wealthiest people in…

Hospitals are closing, people are losing their healthcare, and Medicaid decisions being made in Lansing will help decide whether we can do something about that.

He is, if not single-handedly responsible, certainly the person most responsible for EV excellence on American soil. And he’s saying, what the fuck? And I don’t blame him for that.

That was a mistake; I was there for that.

I think right now with everything that voters and their families are up against economically, there’s a very important opening.

Right now, I’m very focused on the election that’s actually happening.

I’m very concerned that the White House and congressional Republicans seem to have given up on the idea that they’re going to win by convincing voters that they’re doing a good job.

The failures of the Trump administration represent an opening, not an answer.

We have to keep a relentless focus on the issues from high cost of living to runaway corruption in Washington — the issues that are really driving voters.

I think even with a nationwide picture where maps are distorted to the benefit of Republicans on average, we can still win.

That is not bad luck. That is what happens when you have 27 years of one-party rule.

But even with that tilted playing field, I see enormous opportunity for Democrats.

I see us competing in places that would have been written off just a few months ago.
