I want to remind them and to let them know to look up to people like this, because they really are the heroes of our day.

Why can't we allow States to be creative in finding solutions like that within the States, and why it is important that Washington shouldn't punish those States for being creative?

I really do believe that the States are going to be the solution to the problems that the Federal Government has created.

Because it sounds a little bit like you are taking more of a bird shot approach. You are just blasting it out there and hoping that it hits the targets that we are hoping to get the message to.

This executive order is meant to address concerns that have been raised about the actions of certain schools towards veterans.

Are veterans experiencing disappointment in the services that they receive? How are we going to address that? Is there a plan?

And would you say that bad practices are limited to for-profit schools, or do you find it in not-for-profit schools as well?

We need a yelp for higher education.

We must protect this benefit at all costs.

The Republican budget kills the patient is absolutely true.

I believe that we can deal with the problems that we face in spending without raising taxes, and that we can truly address tax reform in a bipartisan fashion. I ask that this body seriously consider the Path to Prosperity and support it.

I believe that we in agriculture have a great opportunity to lead in our nation's capital.

Ultimately, the move of VETS to the VA will ensure that veterans receive the highest priority in these employment, education and training programs.

But we are on the precipice of ceding that leadership unless we support NASA's efforts toward developing the next generation vehicle.

But this is what I get tired of, because I really believe we need a civil debate in Washington, and I get tired of Republicans being thrown under the bus saying Republicans want to destroy Medicare and Social Security, when that is not the…

But you can't even get a single vote in the Democrat-controlled Senate.

I support eliminating direct payments. I have been an advocate of that.

As Mr. Walz always says we cannot afford not to get this right. We have to get this right.

Well, and I know you know this. I was just over in Afghanistan this past weekend and I had this question come up frequently. What is going to happen back home when I get home?

I believe the buck always stops at the top, and in this situation I believe that Mr. Gensler should be here as well.

I also find VA's recent decision to ignore GAO's finding in favor of a protest by Aldevra, a service disabled veteran-owned small business, as evidence of a continuing reluctance to fully embrace the clear requirements of section 8127.

Its policy of allowing self-certification of ownership and control status instead of actively performing the validation function prescribed in the law was, frankly, a disaster.

The VA can maintain leadership in this arena, but instead is choosing to only do so when convenient.

It just sounds to me like our veteran-owned businesses, small businesses are having to scrap and scrap for--I mean, they should not be getting their crumbs.
