I ran to be DNC Vice Chair to help make the Democratic Party better, not to defend an indefensible status quo that has caused voters in almost every demographic group to move away from us.

The Public Record
The only way to win back the trust of voters and challenge the proto-authoritarian regime we’re up against is by listening to the demands of working-class people.
We’re trying to be a scalpel here. And it’s not just, it’s not about being out with the old and in with the new. It’s about being out with the ineffective and in with the effective.
We need people that are going to be affected by the decisions that are made today that will impact them 40 years from now because they will be alive 40 years from now too.
Indeed. And in the most recent polling, we see that people like Maxwell are gaining traction, you know,. The country is seeing the importance of protecting our kids.
We need a plethora of experiences and not just people that are former hedge fund managers and other things like that.
We need to demand that House leadership makes good on their promises to families, and brings this to a vote before they leave for recess on Friday.
As Americans, we need to take a similar approach that is public health based and focuses on addressing this issue on a bipartisan basis.
We have to find the common ground and demand, demand our senators act and act in a bipartisan manner because we have to have 10 votes to overcome the filibuster.
But we have to go out there again and continue to demand it, not as Democrats or Republicans, but as Americans that are united to protect what we care about most, our kids.
No responsible gun owner, no Republican wants this to continue. We have to find the common ground and act together.
Look, I think the legislation that we passed is a good half step of 1000 that are needed to successfully address gun violence in this country.
We have to work together to make as much progress as we can and demand that our senators do what we already have as Americans, which is agree that we need gun safety in this country.
I think it speaks to the fact that unfortunately, no law is perfect, but also that we have to continue doing all that we can to prevent these things from happening.
As we gather here today, the next shooter is already plotting his attack, while the federal government pretends it can do nothing to stop it.
But let`s focus on what we can agree on and get any action so that we can even just stop one Parkland from happening or one shooting from happening.
Every time these things happen, the politicians in Washington need to realize that Americans actually aren`t divided on this. We agree, we want action.
the reality is, we all have the same enemy in this country. Gun violence, period. None of us -- no matter how Republican or Democratic we are, none of us want our kids to be dying in their schools or communities on a daily basis, or our…
And you think that you can just arm teachers and that, A, they are even going to accept that? But B, that somehow they are going to also have the same level of training as law enforcement? You are out of your mind.
I need everyone watching this to get activated before this, march with us on June 11th, with gun owners, with Republicans, Democrats, with non-gun owners, everyone to demand action.
People need to March with us on June 11. And if you`re interested in marching with us as Americans united for peace, not as against guns or for guns, but for peace, march with us on June 11 in over 450 marches across the country.
