There’ve been a few members that have come out, that have said, ‘if I retire my life is effectively over.’… Get over yourself. This isn’t about you.

We have to show our base right now that we are doing everything we can to fight back against Donald Trump, and that includes holding ourselves accountable.

As we saw in Mamdani’s race, and in races with progressive candidates across the country, young voters are turning out in record numbers, proving that we didn’t lose Gen Z; they just needed candidates to vote for.

It is undeniable, though, that with less Democratic members it gives Trump greater ability to pass what he wants through Congress. And this never had to happen.
