Mr. Walberg and I introduced H.R. 5174, the Energy Emergency Leadership Act, earlier this spring.

As policymakers, we all want to ensure that we are providing DOE and each of the agencies all of the authorities and resources that they need to comprehensively address the cyber threats that our Nation faces.

I have worked with my colleague Mr. Walberg of Michigan on a bill that codifies the work that DOE has already been conducting.

It is imperative that we take proactive steps to mitigate the risk of these attacks to the maximum extent possible.

Do you consider President Trump's tweets to be abusive or harmful at all?

Chicago is experiencing an epidemic of violence particularly as it relates to our young people and Facebook has already been confirmed as an asset that is being used by some of these young people to commit violence.

Are you willing to commit to or are you saying that Twitter will consider Mr. Pallone's request?

I want to go back to the beginning of this hearing where Mr. Pallone discussed the need for an independent third party institute to conduct a civil rights audit of Twitter.

Even with America's energy abundance, the Strategic Petroleum Reserve will remain an important energy security asset.

As a result of these shifting dynamics, Mr. Chairman, it is important for policy makers including members of this subcommittee to examine important questions including if there is still a need for the SPRO.

I would be surprised if there are no other governments that are interested because of the differential cost.

Are any of you aware of any interests by foreign governments in leasing the underutilized storage space here in the U.S.?

Energy storage is an incentive, in that it provides consumers more control over when and how they use energy.

Energy storage can help make the grid more resilient during severe weather events and provide emergency power during times of disaster.

Energy storage offers a uniquely flexible technology that can be utilized to meet the changing demands of customers.

As we move toward a more decentralized energy economy, storage offers tremendous opportunities to integrate cleaner, renewable energy resources.

Unfortunately, this short-sighted and backwards-looking perspective is costing our economy jobs and business opportunities that other countries are gladly claiming.
