Barack Obama served as the 44th President of the United States from January 20, 2009, to January 20, 2017. A member of the Democratic Party, he previously represented Illinois in the U.S. Senate from 2005 to 2008 and served in the Illinois State Senate from 1997 to 2004. Obama is known for his signature policies including the Affordable Care Act, also known as Obamacare, and his efforts in economic recovery following the 2008 financial crisis. His presidency was marked by significant legislative achievements and a focus on healthcare reform, climate change, and foreign policy initiatives such as the Iran nuclear deal.
If you sense, as I sense, that the time is now... then I'm ready to take up the cause, and march with you, and work with you.
We worship an awesome God in the blue states. And we don't like federal agents poking around in our libraries in the red states. We coach Little League in the blue states. And yes, we've got some gay friends in the red states.
This money that has been allocated is still not reaching ordinary folks here in New Orleans and in Louisiana. And until it does, all the numbers and the meetings and the planning that's being done is inadequate.
What we can't do is continue the approach that does not ensure the sort of political solutions that are needed in Iraq.
I did not see the president charting out a new course that would persuade either myself or the American people that -- that we're going about this thing in the right way.
We should start drawing down our troops, redeploying them to fight in Afghanistan and other places.
I think it's important for us to have these conversations with him and see if we can work together.
There are only so many donors that can give the big kind of money that you need.
