Barack Obama served as the 44th President of the United States from January 20, 2009, to January 20, 2017. A member of the Democratic Party, he previously represented Illinois in the U.S. Senate from 2005 to 2008 and served in the Illinois State Senate from 1997 to 2004. Obama is known for his signature policies including the Affordable Care Act, also known as Obamacare, and his efforts in economic recovery following the 2008 financial crisis. His presidency was marked by significant legislative achievements and a focus on healthcare reform, climate change, and foreign policy initiatives such as the Iran nuclear deal.
My sense is that Mr. Geffen may have differences with the Clintons. That doesn't really have anything to do with our campaign.
So if he's ginned up to fight the good fight in Iraq, I would suggest that he calls up another 20,000 Australians and sends them to Iraq.
I stand before you today to announce my candidacy for President of the United States of America. And if you will join with me in this improbable quest, if you feel Destiny calling and see as I see the future of endless possibilities…
Let us honor their valor by providing the care they need and rebuilding the military they love.
We all made this journey for a reason. It's humbling, but in my heart I know you didn't come here just for me, you came here because you believe in what this country can be.
In the face of war, you believe there can be peace. In the face of despair, you believe there can be hope.
The failure of leadership, the smallness of our politics... has stopped us from meeting these challenges.
In the end, that's what this election is about. Do we participate in a politics of cynicism or a politics of hope?
