Economic as well as military espionage is a tremendous issue that we face.

It is not in the interest of U.S. companies to do this, but it is very, very hard for them to resist this.

Thank you, Mr. Tonko. It is really nice that we are both on the same page in making sure our taxpayers get a proper return from their investment in these companies.

I am still interested in and want to continue to pursue investigation and oversight of many issues.

Our concerns are not limited to economic espionage and theft, even though that is clearly a significant threat.

This is unfortunate, because today's hearing addresses a topic of great concern to this Committee --innovation and U.S. competitiveness.
