What you described today is very scary.

I strongly believe in that right of every American worker. I don't think anyone should be forced to join a union on the other hand.

What you have described is just an abuse of authority today.

That to me is absolutely scary.

The most important responsibility of that agency is to connect the dots.

I think you have confirmed some of our worst suspicions of what we have heard was going on.

Neffenger is well-intended, but some of the reports that leaked about the poor performance--you saw some cooking of the books, too, on wait times, is that correct, any of you?

I am very concerned about what has taken place. Again, Neffenger is well-intended. He is trying to correct the situation with more training, et cetera.

We believe we're entitled to--under the Constitution, under the laws, we created TSA, DHS, and other--other laws that have precedent, we have the right to question that witness, and the law also says that we do not have to pay salaries to…

We created DHS. We created TSA. Do you think the Congress and this committee has the right to investigate misconduct and mismanagement at the TSA and DHS?

I turned out to be right, and we should dismantle that.

All laws emanate from this document, don't they?

The management's lacking.

Virginia needs to step up to the plate, Maryland needs to step up to the plate, and the District with that huge surplus now needs to step up to the plate.

What we don't have--we have money available, we don't have leadership, we don't have management.

I am not going to bail you out. I am not going to support bailing out the District of Columbia.

We have a Metro system in crisis in Washington, D.C., and we need to find out what has gone wrong.

Would you have the Federal Government manage that property? Hell, no. You'd be nuts. And we do that.

It's the procedures. They're cumbersome. They're outdated. They're bureaucratic. There's red tape.

We passed these reforms--now, I know it takes a while to implement.

Yeah, they don't have a good inventory even of their properties and their assets, and this report highlights it again.

Some of the waste and inefficiency of the Federal Government is identified annually by GAO.

God forbid we should give them a lease on doing things with private property and moving projects ahead.

They say they arrest them. They detain them. They call the Border Patrol. And they advise them that they can't help.

The borders are a sieve. We have people working at our airports who are aliens who we don't even know anything about.
