John Mica

John Mica is a former U.S. Representative who served Florida's 7th congressional district from 1993 to 2017. A member of the Republican Party, Mica was known for his work on transportation and infrastructure issues, playing a significant role in shaping policies related to these areas during his tenure. He was also involved in various legislative efforts aimed at improving the economy and supporting local businesses in Florida. Mica's long career in public service included a focus on constituent services and community engagement.
We believe we've completed our production to the Ways and Means Committee and all the documents that are asked for in light of these document productions.
I don't believe that we--that the testimony we've heard today in any way reinforces how dangerous this drug is and it needs to be a Substance I drug.
And the second thing is across the country there's been a wave of votes and legislative actions to take us into using marijuana or some of its derivatives--I'm not going to be technically accurate here--for medical beneficial purposes.
I mean, we've had law enforcement people, we've had prosecutorial folks, we have the head of the DEA, we've got ONDCP, a whole bunch of people going in different directions on this.
The fact that cocaine is Substance II and marijuana is Substance I tells you a lot about how skewed the United States' policy--Federal policy is with respect to this drug.
So, in fact, what was testified by ONDCP, in fact, is true, that you have so much more potent marijuana on the streets and in the marketplace today.
Rescheduling marijuana to a Schedule III drug would enable Jennifer to leave the State of Colorado for visits home to her friends and family back in Virginia.
this is not acceptable. I will work with you, whatever steps we need to take to try to bring this agency into control.
Mr. Mica, yes, we received a lot of feedback from employees of CSB alleging that they were being retaliated against.
