High-speed rail is a great idea. But what are you going to give up for everybody that rides it?

I believe that if the high-speed rail project in California is not going to get moving quickly, then that money ought to be diverted to shovel-ready projects that would be committed quickly.
I do believe there are corridors in this country that need high-speed rail; we should be focused on them.
Unfortunately, three States have returned money for projects that did not get off the ground.
People deserve more than a tented, hot--a facility that was a replacement for a storm.
I really believe if we focus on the one true high-speed rail corridor that we have today that desperately needs it, it is the Northeast Corridor.
We should be running a larger number there, and also in the Northeast Corridor of passenger service.
