We believe there are still a small number of Americans, under 200, and likely closer to 100, who remain in Afghanistan and want to leave.

We discussed how we will work together to facilitate safe travel out of Afghanistan including by re-opening Kabul civilian airport as soon as possible.

Any engagement with Taliban led government in Kabul will be driven by one thing only, our vital national interest.
