it gets better. On the Supreme Court of the United States, two recent Supreme Court Justices, names that are certainly familiar to me, I expect familiar to most Americans, Byron White, Wizard White from my State, Colorado. Byron White was nominated by President Kennedy, confirmed by the Senate, served with distinction on the Supreme Court, never was a judge prior to being nominated to the highest court in the land, not just a Federal judgeship, the highest court in the land, the Supreme Court. William Rehnquist, currently the Chief Justice, of course, no prior judicial experience before being appointed to the Supreme Court.
