The 9-8-8 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline is saving lives by providing urgent and timely responses to individuals in crisis.

There are real abuses right now on the part of social media companies not only in America but around the world.

I have seen firsthand how powerful social media misinformation and disinformation created vaccine hesitancy, which actually has cost human life.

We should definitely make sure that they are taking down content that is harming especially our children.

I agree with my colleague from Texas who just made the comment that trust in the Federal Government is--is at historical low.

We also know that election mis- and disinformation is a huge problem and another one that often spreads unchecked on platforms when it's in Spanish.

It is unfortunate that I think most Americans--or most parents--think that TikTok is this innocent little thing.

Are you investing more and more and more every day into bringing down that kind of content? That is my question. Are you?

As was mentioned earlier, it might sound a little funny, but you have in fact been one of the few people to unite this committee--Members, Republicans and Democrats--to be in agreement that we are frustrated with TikTok.

It is important to me that our spectrum policy in this country keeps this in mind and we prioritize intense mobile wireless competition.

We could fall back, and falling back is not good for security. It is not good for the American people. It is not good for the economy.

What we don't do here--what I hope and pray that we don't do in Congress--is take it for granted that everything is going to be just fine.

It is not a shortage of spectrum that is creating the digital divide. It is a shortage of infrastructure.

Once again, I think public-private partnerships are key in that effort of connectivity.

One of the things that I wanted to ask you, Ms. Garza, is, when it comes to using punitive responses to the opioid crisis that we have in our country, the fentanyl crisis, is being punitive the answer, or are there other solutions?

For those individuals who unfortunately have found themselves addicted and cannot help themselves, we need to help them too.

We need to ensure that we are protecting people in their home countries and ensuring they feel they can stay in their home country and not go on this perilous journey into the United States.

I'm blessed to be a United States citizen, but equally blessed to be a United States Congressman representing the community that I was born and raised in.
