I don't like to think how hard it would have been to push our programs over the top without Republican control of the Senate.

We urged reversal of the Turkish community's moves and called on all states of the world not to recognize the self-proclaimed entity.

Whatever successes our administration has enjoyed, these two Senators deserve a big slice of the credit.

We also met with (then) Turkish Foreign Minister Turkmen to whom we explained these same points.
