Ronald Reagan: “The good will between Mexico and the United States is a blossom whose beauty we meet here to cherish and protect.”

Rather than making them or talking about putting up a fence, why don’t we work out some recognition of our mutual problems, make it possible for them to come here legally with a work permit, and then, while they’re working and earning…

But there's nothing I can say that would make the situation right.

It was a message of peace.

America is the shining city on the hill. Welcome all who enter to follow their dreams.
