Every American remembers with pride the dignity, determination, and quiet courage with which they withstood the abuse of their captors.

But we also share their pride in his professional achievements, his service to his country, and his strength of heart and spirit.

All of us have much to be thankful for.

I return with a new respect for the men and women who serve in the medical profession.
