Richard Nixon: “The Presidency is not the property of any bloc or special interest; it must be the office of all - all Americans.”

This, more than anything, is what I hope will be my legacy to you, to our country, as I leave the Presidency.

I have done my very best in all the days since to be true to that pledge.

It is regrettable that the Congress has seen fit to add to a bill of such importance to our national security a rider adversely affecting the constitutional separation of powers.

A strong America is essential to maintaining world peace.
