Our goal isn’t to be punitive. Our goal is to get testimony. But if someone isn’t going to give testimony, we’re going to use every tool available.

Yes, so that’s exactly where we’re at. We have a business committee of the select committee. It will be public, and we will address that issue, and we will likely advance a criminal referral to the House floor.

The best way to honor our law enforcement heroes who were that last line of defense on democracy on January 6th is to get to the bottom of what happened leading up to January 6th and the role that the big lie played.

What I took away is that these are additional, brave heroes who are administering our elections. And they are the fabric of our local communities. And they are under assault.

It's because of your service--it's because of you and your colleagues--that we're here today, because you were literally the last line of physical defense, laying your life on the line for democracy.

Our goal, our charge, our mission is to tell the story about January 6, what led up to the 6th, who funded it, and how we make sure this never happens again.
