The VA did not have the authority to restore the GI Bill benefits to defrauded veterans, and so Congress passed the Forever GI Bill to grant that authority.

Let's close this 90/10 loophole.

What are some of the social and emotional consequences of discrimination for gender identity and sexual orientation in schools?

I was a middle school teacher at one point, too. And I remember having a transgender about 20-25 years ago, even as a gay person, I did not quite understand transgender myself then.

All students should be allowed to receive an education without fear of discrimination, which is why I am proud to be a co-sponsor of the Equality Act.

I want to ensure that schools are welcoming places for all students regardless of their gender identity or sexual orientation.

I remain concerned about whether this budget provides appropriate levels of funding to implement the VA MISSION Act.

Cuts to important safety net programs like SNAP benefits, Medicare, and Medicaid... will likely place a greater strain on VA resources.

Proposals like taking disability benefits from veterans by rounding down the cost of living adjustment to pay for other veterans' programs.
