We don't do cabbage. That wasn't my district. But we do have farm workers and they put their lives on the line to feed us.

So I think that is a problem. We haven't made progress in the last two years.

My district does care strongly about net neutrality protections. When the FCC moved to repeal net neutrality, more than 8,000 of my constituents reached out to me to express their concerns.

This violates the Congress' intent of constantly updating standards.

However, by not regulating appliances with less than half a quad of energy, you are, in effect, causing consumers to pay increasing electricity costs, wouldn't that be true?

We are doing consumers a disservice here.

The problem in my mind is that just a small amount of natural gas fugitive emissions cause natural gas to be dirty compared to other forms of fossil fuel.

There is a real need for greater transparency in how these algorithms are produced and the decisionmaking is made.

It is clearly critical that the teams designing these products are representative of who the products are going to serve.

I am also concerned that many people will be left behind, and what that means for my district and my constituents.

It sounds like you are advocating for consistent long-term policy.

And we have to educate the different stakeholders.

I would like to expand the definition of workers in the energy to include jobs that make sure our system is resilient.

I think it is something that we should pay attention to.

My first question goes to all the witnesses and please just answer yes or no. Is it important that any law that we draft be able to adapt to technological innovation and advancements over time?

In order for comprehensive privacy laws created by this slow-moving Congress to meet the current challenges and to be able to adopt the new circumstances, I believe it is critical that we give the FTC APA rulemaking authority for privacy…

Wouldn't this merger have an even greater impact on lower income people who depend on prepaid services since we would be moving from three to four facility-based prepaid providers?

Many households in my district live paycheck to paycheck. More than a quarter have an annual income of less than $35,000 a year.

I urge the subcommittee to support and allocate that amount in their FY 2020 Energy and Water bill.

We must have a permanent geological site, the Yucca Mountain, to manage our nuclear waste.

I support this decision, and ask the committee to fully fund the Directed Stockpile Work account.
