As chair on the Committee on Economic Development, Emergency Management and Public Buildings, we recently passed a bill to sell off 200 acres in Tracy at fair market value. This is one property amongst many. Recently, the President signed that into law. If we can do this once a day, it will take us 40 years to liquidate the 14,000 properties that the Federal Government has already declared surplus and excess. It's not about Republican politics or Democrat politics. This is about American jobs, a chance for us to come together and sell the things that we just don't need. Let's get rid of the waste in government. This is one small step. We have 14,000 more steps to go. ____________________
