“I also want to start out by thanking Chairman Rogers and Ranking Member Ruppersberger for bringing forward this bipartisan bill, and I am echoing I think what everyone is feeling today, that I think it's important for the American people to see this, to see us come together on such an important issue when it comes to protecting all Americans, so it feels good to be a part of this today. It requires the Civil Liberties Protection Officer, which is in the Office of the Director of National Intelligence, to ensure that any training between the intelligence community and law enforcement includes the protection of constitutional rights of racial and ethnic minorities.
