I urge you to charge Congress with enacting legislation to advance innovation in the energy sector to decrease our dependence on carbon.

It is our responsibility in Congress to lead our country and the larger global community to move beyond partisanship and enact prudent solutions that improve lives and safeguard the future.

No one should have to take on the emotional and financial burden of this disease alone, especially not family of our veterans, who are twice as likely to develop ALS as those who had not served.

Our legislation would help ease the financial stress surviving family members face when a veteran who is diagnosed with ALS dies.

I hope that we can move this bill to markup quickly, so that the veterans in states with legal medicinal marijuana can receive the care that they deserve.

I urge you to work together in a bipartisan fashion to provide increased funding for transportation projects while supporting sustainable energy and environmental policies to address climate change.

I think we are in a situation right now where we can't be taking baby steps. We have got to start running to get there.
