We keep saying we have this driver shortage that we don't have. We have a training shortage, we have a parking shortage, we have a pay shortage.

Transit agencies provide transportation services in nearly every community across this country--big, small, rural, and urban.

The issue before us today is how do we ensure we have the resources to build and maintain a surface transportation system that will meet the needs of our nation and allow us to remain competitive in the 21st century.

Thank you for holding today's hearing to bring more attention to what must be done to address the solvency of the Highway Trust Fund.
