Ed Royce: “Amendment in the nature of a substitute to H.R. 5141 offered by the Honorable Edward R. Royce”

I would like to caution against making a bad situation worse.

There have been numerous reports of senior executives at the GSEs meeting with Federal policymakers to advocate for being taken out of conservatorship.

In the decade leading up to the financial crisis of 2008, Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac spent nearly $200 million on lobbying activities and campaign contributions.

I hope this Administration and this Congress have learned something from this failed duopoly and do the hard work necessary to reform our housing finance system.
