The Chinese people are yearning for information; not propaganda, but unbiased information, that is all. So I hope bolstering Radio Free Asia is something we can all support. This program has the opportunity to provide more than 1.4 billion, one-fourth of the world's population, with a daily dose of truth. I would like to close my time by reading one last letter Radio Free Asia received from one of its Chinese listeners. "Congratulations on the first anniversary of your Mandarin broadcasts. I am one of your listeners writing to offer my thanks and congratulations. You have worked so hard and during this last year you have won some great victories. Here is hoping that your station in the future will gain a foothold in Asia and the world, and not fear cruelty and inhumanity."
