“The Chinese people are yearning for information; not propaganda, but unbiased information, that is all. So I hope bolstering Radio Free Asia is something we can all support. This program has the opportunity to provide more than 1.4 billion, one-fourth of the world's population, with a daily dose of truth. I would like to close my time by reading one last letter Radio Free Asia received from one of its Chinese listeners. "Congratulations on the first anniversary of your Mandarin broadcasts. I am one of your listeners writing to offer my thanks and congratulations. You have worked so hard and during this last year you have won some great victories.
