In the decade leading up to the financial crisis of 2008, Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac spent nearly $200 million on lobbying activities and campaign contributions.

These efforts build on previous U.S. sanctions as well as those by Canada, the European Union, and Switzerland.

This bill is an excellent next step in countering this vile trade and will bring us one step closer to ensure that life and human dignity are respected.

We just get a chance to maybe do the right thing.
