We keep hearing about the trolls; and, yes, there is some problem with the trolls, and sometimes it hurts middle class people. But we can solve that problem without destroying the rights of our American independent inventors, and they are pleading with us, interest groups around the country are pleading with us not to go so fast. I support the Conyers substitute, but I rise in opposition to this bill. Among those opposing or having expressed serious concern about this Innovation Act are the Association of American Universities, American Council on Education, Association of American Medical Colleges, Eagle Forum, Club for Growth, the American Bar Association, the Patent Office Professional Association, the American Intellectual Property Association, the National Association for Patent Practitioners, the Judicial Conference committee on rules and practices and procedures. Our judges are absolutely opposed to this, and yet we have this idea that we will just take away the rights of the little guy to have his day in court, that it doesn't make any difference. That is not what our judges say. Mr. Chairman, I submit this list to be placed in the Record. Please, let's not rush into a move that will destroy our independent inventors and our innovators in America.
