With all of the money and power on one side, we will not be able to pass meaningful legislation.

The idea that those who engage in legal business actually carry around huge quantities of cash is absurd.

Every dollar that we spend helping improve the economy of Myanmar/Burma increases the power of the regime and is taken away from the poor people in other places in the world, particularly Africa.

The value of the dollar as a worldwide reserve currency is certainly not helped by us having the charade we are having here about whether we will even pay our bills.

When you look at the casualties in conflicts, the enormous casualties come from deprivation of food and medicine and disease hitting civilian populations, and that is certainly the case with regard to the dispute in Tigray.
