The Trump Administration has taken a hatchet to every part of our healthcare system, undermining the Affordable Care Act, proposing to fundamentally restructure Medicaid and slashing Medicare.
These cuts mean working single mothers in between jobs, families with a family member who suffers from addiction, and grandparents in long-term care facilities will have less access to care.
Cutting this coverage is unacceptable, and I will stand up for my constituents and the millions of Americans across the country that rely on these programs.

I think that our country has been fortunate to have had Dr. Gottlieb as the commissioner of the FDA.
Today we're planning to deliver on that promise by examining legislation that creates a reinsurance program for all States.
I welcome the fact that today's hearing is about building out and improving the Affordable Care Act which is what we need to focus on.

I think, Dr. Burgess, you made a big mistake by not enrolling because it is terrific. It works beautifully for me.
I do not understand that, but what I do know is the Democrats are going to forge ahead in our goal to lower healthcare costs for the American people.
