The threats to our Constitution aren't just coming from aboard, but from right here right at home.
All we said is we reiterated what basically is the rule of law that members of the military should not, cannot follow illegal orders.
We’ve heard very little, basically crickets, from Republicans in the United States Congress about what the president has said about hanging members of Congress.
His words carry tremendous weight, more so than anybody else in the country, and he should be aware of that, and because of what he says, there is now increased threats against us.
If this is meant to intimidate me and other members of Congress from doing our jobs and holding this administration accountable, it won’t work.
What does this mean for their future if they find out later that they did this without legal justification?
I’ve given too much to this country to be silenced by bullies who care more about their own power than protecting the Constitution.
Secretary Hegseth’s tweet is the first I heard of this. I also saw the President’s posts saying I should be arrested, hanged, and put to death.
The message he sent a couple days ago was, he declared that loyalty to the Constitution is now punishable by death.
If Putin gets the chance with that deal to, you know, rearm… rebuild his economy and gain territory, by the way, that's what he wanted.
I'm not going to be intimidated. You know, you just heard Jason Crow. He's not going to be intimidated either.
That plan, that's Putin's plan. That is a very good deal for Russia. It is a horrible deal for Ukraine.
What’s most telling is that the President considers it punishable by death for us to restate the law.
I think it's important to say that there is nothing more American than standing up for the Constitution, that's what we were doing. President didn't like it, so now he calls for us to be hanged.
He has talked about sending troops into more U.S. cities, he's talked about invoking the Insurrection Act.
The off ramp is: Let’s get in a room. Let’s get the president actually in a room. Let’s get him to focus on this for more than an hour.
Regime change hasn't ever really worked out well for us as a nation where we have supported that.
This is more important than any single person. This is about our democracy at this point.
