I thank the gentlelady from California. Mr. Speaker, I rise today to urge the passage of H.R. 5859. This legislation repeals a requirement that auto dealers provide consumers with an insurance cost booklet. I actually know about this…

this is going to be a really, really difficult time for those folks. It's going to take a long time to recover.
I think these towns like Tucson tend to rise to the occasion and that support really helps those people that are experiencing this.
I think it helps. You know, as an example, Gabby's staff, I mean, we immediately got, you know, some professional help for them.
I want to make sure we dominate in it. So I think that should be our goal always.
Is there anybody sitting at this table that would say to me, you know what, we don't have enough regulations?
If this is about creating jobs, then, my goodness, we better start looking at where the problem is.
I think the confusing thing of this is, when we talk about--and Mr. Tierney said the problem is there is a lack of demand.
What does that look like to the people who pay for all this, the American taxpayers? It is pathetic.
The question is who was made whole, who was made partial, who was left out in the cold.
Can we just say on the street we call that picking winners and losers, and who gets to take advantage of things that weren't available to others in bankruptcy?
We are not talking, by the way, gentlemen, about union jobs and non-union jobs, Republican jobs and Democrat jobs; we are talking about American jobs.
It is offensive to me that somebody was picked to win and the other people were picked to lose.
the thing about the American people, they trust us so much with the process, and they have great faith in the process until they find out they've been gamed.
I thank my colleague from Tennessee. I really appreciate the opportunity to talk tonight. And I think what I've found unusual in my 18 months here is that when I look at a lot of the legislation that comes forward, a lot of it is proposed…
When we follow this Judas goat of taking money from the government, there are strings attached to all this money we take and there are repercussions.
This has been the most irresponsible waste of taxpayer money that I have seen in my lifetime.
There is just no money left for them to take care of their kids and to plan their future.
So the market wasn't created by a market demand, it was created by a government saying this is what you are going to do; you are going to do it with renewables, okay?
But then you say, well, where did the government get the money, and you find out it is people who actually pay taxes.
The disconnect is so great here, it is so foreign to people who live in this area that this money actually comes out of working people's pockets.
But it does come down to what is the return on the investment for the people whose money is actually at risk.
