I would just like to point out and remind the committee that this topic, this hearing topic again back in February with a hearing that we had with the GSA regarding Federal agencies' handling of firearms.

I would like to associate myself with Mr. Gowdy's remarks in regard to Mr. Horowitz.

My concern about it is--and I think it has been discussed in this hearing to a certain extent is that the census is so important in the context of redrawing congressional districts and determining the number of eligible voters.

So the answer is no, it is not fully functional?

The total since 2008 we are going to spend about a half-a-billion dollars and we are still not fully functional.

Do you believe it is appropriate for EPA employees to seek to shut down a legitimate business that employs many people?

Do you punish that or do you encourage it?

Do you believe it is appropriate for the EPA personnel to pressure and intimidate citizens into endorsing the EPA's agenda?

I think Mr. Meadows establish very clearly that we were lied to by this administration, perhaps even with contempt.

Every member of my staff, every member of--any Member of Congress's staff has to go through screening process.

Well, there were multiple security violations that took place under his leadership.

I am going to transition a little bit here. One of the things that I am concerned about is in our last hearing there were repeated reports that there are only three U.S. airports that currently require employee security checks.

It just makes sense before they enter these critical areas that they go through a screening process like everybody else.

If you had to guess, what cost-cutting efforts would the Postal Service have to take or be taking if it were a private company?

I think that ought to be a couple of things at the top of your list for consideration.

You are correct in that. There are a number of factors, and that is one of the reasons why your costs are so high because you are buying vehicles that you plan to keep in place for a number of years and your fuel costs, your maintenance…

I find it offensive.

Why haven't you taken that action?

We know that there were 124 people who are here illegally who have committed murders.

Can you imagine what would have happened if they had shot that police officer?

Would it bother you if EPA employees were acting preemptively without scientific data, without doing the due diligence, to go ahead and deny someone a permit?
