I think we made a breakthrough.

Even 3 years is pretty darn long, right?

They built the Alcan Highway in 11 months.

Five to six years, to me, is lunacy. What can we do?

The technology is getting closer.

We want to work with you, particularly on this permitting issue, because it's vital to the country.

You came up to Alaska last summer and essentially broke the log jam on the Sterling Highway EIS that was, we think, the longest EIS in the works for the Federal Government in the history of the country.

Pipelines are safer... than rail cars for moving oil or even LNG.

I think the Administration put out a very strong plan and worked with a lot of us on that.

There hasn't been a lot of, kind of, redeployment and thinking of, you know, where our forces in the Asia-Pacific should be deployed.

I know the Commandant and the leadership of the Marine Corps has been looking at the issue with some of the other services, particularly the Air Force, on the force posture in the Asia-Pacific.

Those marine and naval aviators probably fly closer to Russia than anybody.

I think there was some anecdote that the Chinese pilots and the Russians are flying more hours monthly, way more, than our men and women.

I mean, is there a way we can help you with that, General?

I certainly wish, if we're talking about challenges, that we can agree to expeditiously move some of these nominees, as opposed to delay, delay, delay.

If we could bring that down to 1 year or a year and a half, you will have less uncertainty and more private sector dollars.
