This shutdown is not about health care. This shutdown was really about Democrats saying they want to show their resistance to President Trump.

That will cause even more and more socially conservative Democrats around the country to say, 'My party’s left me.'

They’re setting everything up for next week. They know they’ve got to get out.

More than likely, I say we open next week after the elections.

I have Oklahomans that are dying from methamphetamine, from cocaine, from fentanyl, and from different drugs that are laced with fentanyl on it and mixing it in. That’s happening in my state as it’s happening all around the country.

The president has turned the volume up to 11 and said, ‘No, we’re going to stop drugs coming into our country that are killing folks.’

The administration needs to give insight into Congress. That’s part of it. If this was happening with this level of insight under the Biden administration, I’d be apoplectic.

If you’re just sitting in your office, you’re not having hearings, you have a tendency to create problems that aren’t needed.

We've got to be able to get the government open. That's been the typical route that we've always done on this.
