I thank my colleague for yielding. Mr. Speaker, I ask unanimous consent to please bring up H.R. 1217. It is a bipartisan bill, the expanded background checks legislation, and I am doing this today in honor of this beautiful young mother of 2 from Chicago, a victim of gun violence. She never received a moment of silence on this House floor. The SPEAKER pro tempore. As previously announced, the unanimous consent request cannot be entertained. The time of the gentlewoman from California will be deducted from the gentleman from Colorado's time.
