Frank Star Comes Out: “This bill is an important step in our nation-to-nation relationship.”

For decades we have been fighting for land, and it is about time we got an opportunity and the Tribes came together for the betterment of the whole entire Oceti Sakowin, and we were able to secure it.

We thank our South Dakota Senators and Congressman, Dusty Johnson, for their leadership on this important matter concerning Wounded Knee.

I have human beings who are being killed and seriously hurt, and as the duly elected leader of the Tribe and a former military officer, I take that very seriously.

We are pleased to participate with the Oglala Sioux Tribe to recover these Wounded Knee lands.
