Let me reiterate that this is not a summit on homeless veterans--it's a summit to end homelessness among veterans. That's our purpose. President Obama and I are personally committed to ending homelessness among veterans within the next 5 years.

As President Obama said veterans have done their duty and they ask nothing more than this country, does ours, that we uphold our sacred trust to all who have served, and we will.
I do not think any veteran, whatever the condition, should have to wait that long in any of our facilities, whether it is an emergency room or a clinic.
