This is not about eliminating this tradition — it’s about honoring our traditions in a way that aligns with who we are today.

And, you know, we have poured money into after school programs, we have poured money into summer youth employment and internships, so we don’t believe incarceration is the answer.

Good intentions can turn out bad results.

We’ll do analysis, I think, speak with the police commissioners to do the correlation between that bill and what has been happening since that bill.

I look forward to fighting alongside her to continue her track record of putting money back in New Yorkers’ pockets and building a safer and stronger New York City where no one is forced to leave just so they can afford to raise a family.

The governor has one vote — let’s be clear on that.
