Well, I think what you have seen in New Jersey, frankly, is a state that President Obama took by 20 points, and now a Republican is winning by about five points.

If they don't get it done, it really diminishes in base turnout.

It's a real significant check on Barack Obama's first year in office. I don't think anybody can minimize what it means to the president.

So, why do more of what didn't work in the first place?
