“today, we will continue to discuss the political exercise surrounding the Medicare ``doc fix'' bill. I am hopeful that after the vote this afternoon, bipartisan discussions can resume so that we can get a bill to the Senate floor that we can all support. While others have fully outlined all of the problems with the process and content of S. 3101--the Democrats version of the bill--I want to take the time to discuss a small aspect of the Republican version of the bill. These provisions will help keep the doors open for rural hospitals so that critical care is available.”
