Is the Senator aware that as a general guideline, the Bureau of Reclamation suggests that irrigation projects in the region need at least 140 acres of irrigated land per mile of canal to be economically self sufficient? No wonder the Wind River Irrigation Project has been forced into a state of disrepair. It is pretty difficult to collect enough user fees to maintain a system when it is only serving 55 acres of irrigated land per mile of canal.
