I thank my friend from Maine, and wholeheartedly agree with her conclusion that we must ensure that the Marketplace Fairness Act is correctly implemented. I have spent many years working on this legislation and strongly believe that leveling the playing field for Main Street businesses is the right thing to do. We must implement the solution to that problem in a reasonable manner, and I agree with the Senator that the 1-year delay she proposes is appropriate to do this.
