I agree with my colleague from Louisiana who is an expert in these areas and spent so much time on energy and the need for affordable energy. People are noticing the pain at the pump and saying: Why is this? They don't have to look any further than the President's policies, the President's efforts, in my opinion, to make it harder for us to explore for energy. What does he try to do? In a Reuter's report this morning, ``U.S.-Britain to agree to emergency oil stocks release'' from the Strategic Petroleum Reserve. This is there for emergencies, for disruption of supply, not for a political disaster. What the President has on his hands now is a political disaster. They realize if they are trying to also deal with bills and mortgage and kids, it is much harder. It is a direct impact on their quality of life. Yet the President continues, as he has done today, to give speeches about gasoline prices and to blame everyone other than himself. It is discouraging to see the President looking to the Strategic Petroleum Reserve. He tapped it last year, 30 million barrels. At that time he drew down our Strategic Petroleum Reserve and still has not refilled it. So any effort to draw down from it today will take it down even further, again putting us more at risk for a true supply disruption.…
