The topic is, I think, very timely and very important because of the promise that STEM education holds, not just for a stronger economy and job opportunities, but for the health and wellbeing of those, our neighbors in all of our States.

I think mandatory for all of them ought to be the movie, Hidden Figures, and I think that would inspire any young lady in this day and age.

A special thanks for Senator Capito for reaching out to me about speaking today and to Senator Manchin.

I would like to talk about an issue that I've gotten involved in, and that's removing drivers from the roads who are under the influence of drugs or alcohol.

I appreciate your digital empowerment agenda.

I would like to just make a comment that I think is important, too, in this area, is we've heard a lot about the states having different regulatory issues, not just in broadband, but in transportation and everything.

The screening that occurs in those small airports can be exceedingly important when we saw what happened.

I think the intention of WIFIA is to use those as a jumping point; not intending to decrease their value or decrease their amounts but to use them as a leverage point.

Thank you to our State's junior Senator, Shelley Moore Capito, for her assistance in improving West Virginia's rural water infrastructure.

We need a functioning Environmental Protection Agency, and Americans deserve the change at the EPA that they voted for this fall.

Disagreement with a nominee's position cannot justify a decision to boycott a scheduled Committee vote.

80 percent of life is showing up. They are living on 20 percent of life right now.

The people that are affected by this environmentally and health-wise are just as important as the people who stand to lose their jobs over this.

I think understanding one another is extremely important.

I voted to expand that reach of EPA to make sure that I have clean water and that if a spill happens in a community around this country, what has happened in Flint, Michigan, doesn't have the far reaching implications that it does.

It is so important, critically important that we enforce our environmental laws and to keep our air clean and get it cleaner and protect our waters.

I reiterated to her how important I think an infrastructure package has to include broadband deployment in the underserved and unserved areas.

We were able in the FAST Act to get the driver alcohol detection system for safety to try to get some innovation.

I would encourage you to look at that bill to see where you could help us with that.

S. 3308: Improving Transparency and Accuracy in Medicare Part D Spending Act... will allow for greater transparency at the claim level.

I would like to commend Senator Manchin for offering this and thank the Chair for bringing this forward.

We know that West Virginia has been under immense strain.

I am really pleased that this is coming forward on the first day of Fall.

I want to thank the Ranking Member too for bringing forth these bills.
