At this point I am very honored, in a nostalgic way, to recognize the gentleman from Illinois, the former chairman of our subcommittee on aviation, the current ranking member, who is taking his expertise--and hopefully not his friendship--and going elsewhere after this year. He has been a very valued member of our committee, and his treasure chest of knowledge on this issue is boundless. I am just so happy and thankful that we've had Jerry Costello to represent us on this issue for so many years. I recognize him for as much time as he wants.

I would urge my colleagues to ensure that labor remains engaged in the conversation, and that aviation programs receive robust, stable funding and to keep air traffic control in the realm of good Government, where it belongs.
