If that is the case, I would say, yes, our veterans have, really, reason for concern.

I understand that many of our veterans are concerned that shifting care to outside the VA is going to lead to less money going to the VA and less services offered, and more coming out of their pockets to get what we have committed to them.

How do you see VA striking a balance between making sure a veteran receives access to care in the community and the care received is high quality?

But when I talk to the veterans, they still want veteran care. They demand it.

It worries me that the veteran could receive medical care completely outside the VA with little to no oversight.

We will not stop or rest until we have good people in all the right leadership positions.

I was thrilled when you said a moment ago that Veterans First passed unanimously out of this Committee.

Leadership stability and getting the best people and the right people in leadership positions is absolutely essential.

Thank you for hosting a facility that has been an incredible participant in this initiative.

You and I both know how critical access to primary care is in the preventing long-term and more serious illnesses and conditions from developing from that.

It is my understanding that both Martinsburg and Clarksburg, in my State of West Virginia, our VA medical centers, will be sites where the Journey to Open Access in Primary Care Practice will be implemented in the future.

Well, we want to work with you any way we can, Doctor--all of you all--to solve that.

We are trying to pass legislation not only in the VA but across the board that basically they cannot do that, to rate hospitals or rate the quality----

I would hope that we could use the opportunity with a change in Administration, regardless of which direction it goes, to step in and settle the Clean Power Plan litigation.

Make sure that any jobs that we could bring here are going to be West Virginia jobs first?
