Last month I introduced the Workplace Violence for Healthcare and Social Service Workers Act.

That is why I was proud to introduce and witness the passage of the Stop Student Debt Relief Scams or Stop Act.

We cannot expect our State and local partners to carry this burden on their own.

Every child in Wisconsin, regardless of their zip code, income, or background, deserves the opportunity to learn and thrive in a school that is safe and supportive.

But part of it is made worse by predatory behavior of those who target students struggling to make ends meet.

I want to commend you and the Army Reserve for your outstanding support to Operation Allies Welcome at Fort McCoy in Wisconsin.

This year I am requesting an increase--increased funding for the Guard to hire additional mental health providers.

I am planning on introducing legislation that would expand TRICARE Reserve coverage to all members of the Reserve.

I support getting the frigate program up to three or maybe even four ships per year as a procurement plan.

Would you support getting all Navy ships closer to 100 percent domestic content?

Would you agree that additional inspections and better oversight of this plant were warranted based on past performance?

I worked with Senator Leahy to fund noise mitigation through annual appropriations and it will be really important for the Department of Defense to get this program implemented soon.

I am also pleased the budget continues to invest in programs that support our rural communities, the backbone of this country.

Our goal and hope is that we are able to expand this program significantly, which is why we have asked for an additional $39 million.

As inflation drives up home ownership opportunities and rental prices it is essential that we ensure rural Americans have access to affordable housing.

It also includes funds to ensure that socially and geographically disadvantaged farmers and ranchers are able to access the services and opportunities that are essential to their success.

The fiscal year 2023 Budget Request for USDA is ambitious, and I am pleased that this request continues investments in climate resilience, as well as support for our rural economies.

I wrote to President Biden earlier this year urging him to prioritize long term contracts for the purchase of masks made by American workers in American factories with American materials.

If the court is really going to legislate from the bench and turn back the clock 50 years on Roe v. Wade, then I think the Senate needs to pass the Women's Health Protection Act, an act that I have co-led with Senator Blumenthal.

And frankly, I would say that if we need to eliminate the filibuster to get it done, that is what we should do.

I was very proud to be the co-lead on the 9-8-8 bill and very supportive of the additional funding in the budget.

A healthy defense industrial base is a critical element for our national security.

I support providing the Ukrainians with the capabilities that they need to defend their sovereignty and hope that we can quickly pass a Ukraine supplemental that fulfills President Biden's request.

I think this is a big problem that we want to work on and help with, but we have no resources dedicated to it now.
